Diamonds in Zimbabwe primarily come from the Marange diamond fields, located in the eastern part of the country, near the town of Mutare. However, Zimbabwe has other diamond mining areas, including the, Chimanimani and Murowa diamond mines.
Yes, they are conflict free. Zimbabwe is a member of the KPCS (Kimberley Process Certification Scheme) an international agreement designed to prevent conflict diamonds from trading. ZCDC operates with the laws of Zimbabwe thus ensuring compliance with the KPCS guidelines
Diamonds are processed by first removing them from the earth through mining operations, crushing, screening, dense media separation and use of X ray technology. After extraction, they undergo, cleaning, sorting, evaluation, cutting, and polishing to enhance their appearance and value
Diamonds are formed deep within the Earth under high-pressure and high-temperature conditions over millions of years. Carbon atoms bond in a crystalline structure, creating diamonds, which are then brought to the surface through volcanic eruptions or transported by geological processes
Licensed diamond cutting factories can buy rough diamonds.
Licenced Jewellery manufacturers can buy cut and polished diamonds.
Any individual can buy polished diamonds.

There are laid down procedures to be followed when one wants to buy Zimbabwe’s diamonds. They must go through the Minerals Marketing Corporation of Zimbabwe (MMCZ) whose mandate is to sell all minerals in Zimbabwe. The buyer must be approved and accredited by MMCZ
