Dr. Zimbango is an executive who has worked and excelled in Organizational Leadership and Strategic Management for several institutions in both the Private and Public sectors. Besides his role as CEO of ZCDC, he is currently the Chairman of the Board of TelOne (Pvt) Ltd.

Dr Zimbango previously held the positions of Chief Executive Officer-Bigtime Strategic Group in Zimbabwe and South Africa (Jan 2017- May 2019), Managing Director- Zimbabwe Posts (Pvt) Ltd (Nov 2006- Sept 2016), Depot Manager Bulawayo Main Centre- Delta Corporation (1993-1999), Branch Manager- Redstar Wholesalers (1991-1993), Manager’s Assistant- Standard Chartered Bank Zimbabwe Limited (1988-1991).

Dr Zimbango also served on various Boards including as Vice Chairman of the Southern Africa Postal Operators Association, Chairman of the Board of The National Building Society, Vice Chairman of the Board of Mosi-oa-Tunya Development Company and Board Member of Post Properties (Pvt) Ltd.

A seasoned mining executive with expertise in diamonds, gold, platinum, graphite, chrome and industrial minerals, has been at the service of the mining industry for almost three decades having started his mining career with Falcon Gold. Has served in several senior positions including Mine Manager River Ranch Diamonds, Mine Manager Pickstone-Peerless Gold, Mine Manager and General Manager Operations for ZCDC.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MSU), Executive Development Program (Wits Business School), Mining Engineering Diploma (ZSM) and several credentials. He is member of the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM) and a member of the Association of Mine Managers of Zimbabwe (AMMZ).

Alexander Mutendera

Chief Finance Officer

Alexander is a qualified Chartered Accountant. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Accounting Science degree from the Univeristy of South Africa and a postgraduate Diploma in Applied Accounting Science from the same institute.

Alexander holds an Honours Bachelor of Accounting Science degree from the University of South Africa and a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Accounting Science from the same institute.

He is a qualified chartered accountant, and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe (ICAZ) and the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA).

Alexander started his career with Deloitte where he rose to Audit Senior before moving to Grant Thornton where he worked as Audit Supervisor. He joined ZCDC on the 1 June 2024 as Chief Finance Officer, prior to this, he was General Manager Finance of Zimasco (Pvt) having occupied various roles within the organisation in his 16-year period there.

Ms Dumisani Mashingaidze is the Company Secretary and Legal Executive and is responsible for the corporate services portfolio which includes the corporate governance advisory and legal advisory functions.

Ms Dumisani Mashingaidze is the Acting Company Secretary for ZCDC since the 6th of March 2021 and is responsible for the corporate services portfolio which includes the corporate governance advisory and legal advisory functions.

Ms Mashingaidze has over 37 years working experience, and her experience spans having worked in private (court) practice, working in the civil society sector in human rights and women ‘rights, and has experience working in legal advisory and corporate secretarial roles in the private business sector. She has held senior managerial positions and has held board positions in the civil society sector and the private business sector.

She worked in private legal practice and was a partner at Hove Mutasa & Associate Legal Practitioners, then became the Director-of the Harare Legal Projects Centre (A project centre of the Legal Resources Foundation -LRF ), then National Coordinator of a UNDP project on Women in Politics and Decision Making ,National Coordinator for Women and Law in Southern Africa-WLSA (Zimbabwe Chapter), Secretary to the Law Society of Zimbabwe, Senior Legal & Regulatory Manager at Econet Wireless (Pvt) Ltd , Head Legal and Corporate Governance in the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, Director Advisory Services at AMG Global CA (Z), Executive Programme Coordinator of Afrika Women Leadership Institute, Pretoria in South Africa, Director of the Gender Equality Fund (Zimbabwe) , Legal & Administration Manager -Chamber of Mines Zimbabwe , Company Secretary & Legal Advisor-Jinan Mining (Pvt) Ltd, Legal & Administration Manager -ZCDC.

Ms Mashingaidze holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), a Post Grad Diploma in Women’s Law, a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB), and a Bachelor of Law Honours degree (BL Hons), all from the University of Zimbabwe. She is a keen good corporate governance practitioner who believes in the practice of good governance be it in the public, corporate (for profit) and non-profit sector. She is also a Commissioner of the Zimbabwe Media Commission.

A versatile, multi-award-winning public relations and communications practitioner, Mr. Sugar Chagonda has vast experience in the fields of broadcasting, public relations, development and implementation of innovative technologies and corporate relationships. He is a pragmatic corporate affairs executive whose skills and competences have a perfect fit with dynamic organizations’ bottom-line and organizational citizenship.

A Social studies graduate from the University of Zimbabwe; he also holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Governance from Africa University and an Executive Masters in Business Administration from the Midlands State University (MSU).

He also possesses numerous local and international diplomas in the fields of communication and public relations. Currently he is pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) with Binary University of Malaysia.

His professional footprint can be traced to the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC), Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) and the Security Services sector where he served with utmost distinction.

An ardent fitness and sports enthusiast, Chagonda is the founding Secretary General of Manica Diamonds Football Club. He is a former Executive Committee member (Board Member - Marketing) for Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA).

He is the founding Board Chairman of Nkululeko/Rusununguko Television (NR TV). Currently he sits on Telecel Zimbabwe Board as a Non- Executive Director.

Elias Mvere is an accomplished cadre who has served the government and the people of Zimbabwe with distinction as a Police Officer rising through the ranks to Commissioner of Police. He served in managerial portfolios as a detective to become Deputy Director CID Crime Division, Criminal Intelligence Unit and Commercial Crime Division before moving to the mainstream to command challenging Provinces.

Elias had the opportunity to partake in various United Nations Peacekeeping missions where he served with excellence. To enhance his carrier, he did lower and higher Law courses, Diploma in Adult Education and Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management with the University of Zimbabwe. He then pursued further studies with Mt. Carmel Institute of Business Intelligence where he accomplished a Diploma in Business and Economic Intelligence.

Elias again obtained a Master’s degree in the same field of study. Since 2022, he has been studying for a PhD in Business Management with IMSR University in India. He has since completed the program and now awaits graduation. He submitted a Thesis entitled ‘An analysis/examination of the Ease Of Doing Business in the Diamond Mining Sector in Zimbabwe: Opportunities and Threats’
