Diamond Sales

ZCDC SALES FRAMEWORK

The Zimbabwe Consolidated Diamond Company processes its rough diamonds through rigorous cleaning, sorting, and evaluation procedures to enhance their market value before sales. Sales transactions are facilitated through the Minerals Marketing Corporation of Zimbabwe (MMCZ), an entity mandated to effectively market and distribute internationally,  all minerals, except for gold and silver. Some precious minerals, including diamonds, are also marketed within Zimbabwe.

Prospective clients keen on procuring these exquisite diamonds must undergo a mandatory registration process and adhere to the stringent requirements outlined by the MMCZ. Successfully registered customers gain access to diamond purchases by engaging in competitive bidding through either local or international tender processes. To optimize revenue generation, international tenders are conducted both within Zimbabwe and abroad.

In adherence to Statutory Instrument 157/2010 (Diamond Sales to Local Diamond Manufacturers), the ZCDC allocates 10% of its monthly diamond production exclusively for local manufacturers to promote value addition and beneficiation within the country. Registered local diamond companies are encouraged to participate in these tenders to foster local industry growth and development.

Zimbabwe is a member of the KPCS (Kimberley Process Certification Scheme) an international agreement designed to prevent trade in conflict diamonds . ZCDC operates within the laws of Zimbabwe thus ensuring compliance with the KPCS guidelines.
